Questioning God

Today, I was texting my youngest sister for information concerning one of my younger brothers. As we were talking, she made a comment about questioning God for her struggles. Her comment, “I know I’m not suppose to question God…”

How many times have I thought the same thing? Does it mean that my faith isn’t strong in Him and His promises?

Until a few years ago, my perception was misguided and unclear.  I did not understand the meaning of “an intimate relationship” with the Lord, much less a relationship. At the time, I did not know Him. I only knew about Him.  So many times, as new and not so new believers, we can get confused.

As I grow in my walk with my Father, I ask questions. I question the reason for the difficulties in my life. I come to Him with any and all questions. He may or may not answer them. This is where my faith is deepened, because I know His reasons are His and His alone. I will trust Him.

As I told my sister, it is okay to question Him. He desires an intimate and personal relationship with us. He wants a dialogue with us. It is like our relationships with spouses, children, and friends.  We have to communicate and ask the “whys.” This is the main ingredient all  relationships.
